BSB boost for Redditch rider

A motorbike racer from Redditch is set to get on his bike despite the coronavirus pandemic, with the news that the British Superbike Championship (BSB) 2020 will be going ahead in full.

Trystan Finocchiaro has signed up with Transmec Racing and will be riding on a Kawasaki ZX636R. There was some doubt as to whether the BSB championship for 2020 would take place, with so many other sporting events having been cancelled due to the pandemic, but now it has been confirmed that it will, with those in charge expected to announce a summer starting date.

However, it is likely that the earliest races on the calendar will be held as closed doors events and that spectator numbers will be greatly restricted. Events like this often use giveaway Promotional Products as a way of attracting potential fans.

Speaking to the Redditch Standard, 21-year-old Trystan stated that his bike was in great condition ready for the first race, before adding:

ā€œI’m extremely excited to go back on track. I have been training very hard on the race bicycle and brand new mountain bike, but it is not the same thing as riding a motorbike on a race track!ā€

Last year, he claimed a third-place finish at the British Junior Supersport Championship, also with Transmec.

The BSB season is expected to start in July and finish during October.
