A disused pub in Potters Bar is set to be knocked down to make way for a new block of flats in the area, should a financial agreement for the project be reached.
The pub is located at Mutton Lane and the plan is for it to be replaced by twin residential blocks offering eight two-bedroom properties, with parking also provided for residents away from the site.
The Plans for the project had been given the go ahead from Hertsmere Borough Council back in June, only for a problem concerning the Land Registry to subsequently emerge and put them on hold.
This meant they had to undergo revision before being submitted to the council for a second time, and the planning committee put together by the council has to reapprove them – although it has been recommended that it does so and few problems are anticipated with it.
However, this recommendation is likely to be subject to the issuing of an agreement under Section 106, requiring developers to abide by restrictions or pay the council a set sum prior to work beginning.
Should the planned residential blocks go ahead, the influx of new people moving into the area is likely to have knock-on benefits for local businesses.
Even before this point, the likes of brochure printers in Potters Bar could well be called upon to create glossy itineraries showcasing the flats to those interesting in renting or buying.Get a Free Quote for Plans
