The pantomime Beauty & the Beast, presented by Jordan Productions, is due to take the stage in Potters Bar towards the end of December.
This is the story of Dame Derriere and her son Potty Pierre, whose adventures lead to chaos in and around the chateau. All of the ingredients are here, including good and bad guys, a heroine in trouble and a handsome mysterious prince.
It stars Rebecca Vere as Fairy Formidable, Andrew Fettes as Dame Dotty, Emily Griffiths as Belle, Danny Childs as Potty Pierre and Samantha Hughes as Malevolent. The script was written by Chris Jordan and it is directed by Andrew Fettes.
There is live music, traditional sets and costumes, as well as professional choreography. These elements come together to produce what is a most distinctive form of family entertainment.
Always part of the backdrop to the Christmas period, the pantomime has a long theatrical history dating back some time before it came to the attention of Walt Disney.
Tickets start at £17 for children and £19 for adults. The total running time is two hours 30 minutes and matinee performances are available. Graphic design usually plays an important role in the presentation of theatrical productions like this.
Beauty & the Beast will run from Friday, December 17 to Friday, December 31 at Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar.
