The tribute act The Lindisfarne Story is on tour, with the musical eulogy due to arrive in Potters Bar towards the end of November.
Hailing from Tyneside, the group first came to the attention of the UK public in 1970. They are perhaps best known for hits such as ‘Lady Eleanor’ and ‘Fog on the Tyne’. These placed them at the forefront of acoustic-orientated rock.
The band originally included Alan Hull, Simon Cove, Ray Jackson and Rod Clements. Their sharp song writing broke through the dominant 70s glam and pop rock sounds. International recognition quickly followed, and Lindisfarne's music is still to be heard on the airwaves today.
In this stage show, singer Billy Mitchell and Ray Laidlaw recount the band's story from the beginning. They will give acoustic renditions of some of their classic tracks, whilst reliving key moments. This is done by sharing stories, all illustrated through archive videos and stills.
The show’s appeal is much broader than simply Lindisfarne fans and should also be of interest to those who want to learn more about UK rock groups of the 1960s and the 1970s.
Tickets cost £24 and may be subject to a booking fee. Graphic design plays an important role when planning and producing a musical stage show.
The Lindisfarne Story has a starting time of 7.30pm on Tuesday 22nd of November at Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar.
