Harrow Mencap gains from the efforts of children

The Harrow branch of the learning disability charity Mencap recently obtained about £1,000 as a result of fundraising accomplished by pupils at Park High School.

The students in question participated in vigorous exercises to get donations for the charity. If Harrow Mencap wants to stage an event in the future, it could use poster printing in Potters Bar.

Ross Hensman, who is head of support services and care at the branch of Mencap in question, has told the Harrow Times:

“Harrow Mencap would like to say a really big thank you to Park High School for all their effort hard work in raising the money and to congratulate them on their very successful fund raising initiative.”

Hensman has revealed how the money that has been generated by the activities of the children has been allocated at this stage. He has specified that the resources will be spent on play equipment, which in turn will be used by young individuals who have learning disabilities to cope with.

Year 7 of Park High School in Stanmore played an active role in raising the cash. A special competition was devised in which the children engaged in repetitive activity like skipping and jumping.

Each individual selected the exercise they wanted to perform. The class that outperformed its rivals at the fundraising was Form H7.
