Ex-Arsenal star in Potters Bar
"Everything Else, An Evening with Liam Brady", is due to be held in Potters Bar at the beginning of November.
When Irish football and footballers are mentioned, on or near the top of the list is the name of Liam Brady - a playmaker known for his useful left foot, great technique and considerable vision. In his near-decade at Highbury, he won the FA Cup in 1979, was Arsenal's best player on three occasions, and appeared in the 1980 European Cup Winners" Final.
Brady, a Dubliner, was born in 1956, rising to prominence as an innovative midfielder with St. Kevin's Boys Club. He signed as a Gunner in 1971, their Double year, and made his senior debut in the old Division One, aged just 17, in a 1-0 win against Birmingham City.
Perry Groves, himself ex-Arsenal, is the host for the evening and it will include chat, anecdotes, and memories. The previous and present state of football will, of course, be up for discussion. There will also be a prize-winning draw, a question-and-answer session and a sale of memorabilia.
Tickets cost £13.50 and a VIP option for those interested. Promotional pens can be a useful way of publicising a forthcoming event.
"Everything Else, An Evening with Liam Brady" has a starting time of 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 10 at Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar.
