An appeal has been made for volunteers to step forward to take part in a swimathon in Northampton to raise money for local charities.
The Rotary clubs of Northampton are appealing to local people to step forward and take part in a charity swimathon in aid of local charitable organisations. The swimathon will last for a full 24 hours and this will be the first time that an all-day swimathon has been held by the Rotary clubs. The clubs involved in making this event happen are the Nene Valley Rotary Club, the Northampton West Rotary Club and the Becket Rotary Club.
The Rotary 24 hour swimathon will be held on 27th and 28th April at Northampton High School’s swimming pool. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are being encouraged to come forward and register and the swimathon will involve people swimming in teams of six for up to one hour, in a relay style.
Members of the Rotary clubs were recently pictured in the Northampton Chronicle and Echo as part of the appeal for volunteers. The photograph featured club members posing pool-side with full colour Banners which had been produced using banner printing.
Northampton residents wishing to take part in the swimathon should get in touch with the Rotary clubs directly by contacting the organiser, Paul Simpson. The pool hire, advertising, insurance and equipment costs are being covered by the sponsorship provided by local businesses and all money raised at the swimathon will go directly to local charities.
