US soul singer to visit Northampton theatre

The US soul/pop singer Alexander O'Neal (plus band) is on his 'Time To Say Goodbye - Farewell Tour' and is due to play Northampton in mid-May.

Based in Minneapolis, this distinctive artist was initially a member of Flyte Tyme, with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. He has now been on the music scene for almost fifty, years contributing to the development of modern soul with his upbeat original gospel singing style.

Vocally, strong comparisons have been drawn with Otis Redding, both in terms of graininess as well as range. The quality of his material, not to mention vocal power, can be clearly heard on his successful charting albums notably 1985's 'Alexander O'Neal', 1987's hit LP 'Hearsay' and 1991's 'All True Man'.

In this on-stage musical experience, he leads the audience on a trip down memory lane with previously unseen photos, all helping to recall stories. The instantly recognisable songs extant in his back catalogue include 'Criticize', 'What Can I Say To Make You Love Met' and ''Fake'. These will be delivered supported by his own nine-piece band.

Tickets range in price from £43.45 to £51.15 inclusive of a transaction fee. Promotional Products can be a useful resource for those engaged in publicising a future concert or a musical event.

Alexander O'Neal's show has a starting time 7.30 pm on Saturday 18th May at Spinney Theatre, Northampton.
