Theatrical performance to come to Northampton

The play 'Our Man in Havana', presented by the White Cobra theatre company, is due to give a run of performances in Northampton in mid-January.

It's the story of Jim Wormold, a less-than-fully employed vacuum cleaner salesman, resident in Cuba. He is finding it increasingly difficult to fund his young daughter's extravagant lifestyle, so when the British Intelligence Service offer him the chance to become 'Our Man in Havana', he chooses to accept.

But there is a problem. Wormold knows nothing about this world, so in order to evade suspicion, he concocts a host of elaborate fictions. He quickly realises, however, that his tales prove to be closer to reality than he had originally anticipated.

This is a stage adaptation by Clive Francis and is based on the classic novel by Graham Greene. It's perhaps best known thanks to the film starring Alec Guinness. The play involves 90 minutes of comedy, featuring a selection of illuminating individuals, and is a fun evening of entertainment for all ages.

White Cobra, a theatre company located in Northamptonshire, tours productions of dramas, comedies and musicals around the UK.

Tickets range in price from £18 to £20. Graphic design makes an important contribution to the work of creating a stage or theatrical event.

'Our Man in Havana' will run from Thursday, 16 to Saturday, 18 January at Royal & Derngate, Northampton.
