The Sun Records Concert Show, endorsed and supported by the Sun Entertainment Corporation, will take place in Northampton at the end of October.
Sun Records is the famous record label that discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Roy Orbison, which is now being brought to life on stage. It is an opportunity to revisit the recording studio where Sam Phillips developed his original "Sun Sound", forged from a blend of blues, gospel, boogie and country.
In 1954, Phillips united a youthful Elvis Presley with session musicians Bill Black, Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana, creating an infusion of R & B and country that broke down barriers of both music and race. Phillips’ Memphis studio produced hits such as Whole Lotta Shakin, Great Balls of Fire, I Walk the Line and Blue Suede Shoes – music that has influenced generations.
This tribute show is set in a replica of the Sun Studios and features instruments from the period. It stars a talented array of singers and supporting musicians, all involved in transporting the audience right back to the origins of rock and roll.
Tickets cost £24 and it is advisable to book early due to the anticipated demand. Poster printing is often used to advertise shows like this.
The Sun Records Show will take place between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Thursday 29th October at The Deco, Northampton.
