Successful festival could return to Northampton

The inaugural Northampton Food and Drink Festival is being described as ‘a big success’, raising hopes that it may be held again next year.

The free-to-enter event, which took place at the town’s Guildhall on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July, saw hundreds of residents turn out to enjoy the various local dishes on offer at the dozen-plus stalls.

They were also able to sample the various product finalists for the 2014 Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards at the event, which had the aim of promoting Northamptonshire’s finest produce. The festival was financed by the town’s Business Improvement District, with the assistance of Northampton Borough Council.

Rachel Mallows, the organiser, told the Northampton Herald and Post that she felt it had achieved its purpose:

“I have to say it went really well. We have been so impressed with how many Northamptonshire people have come in and said they have loved the local produce.”

She added that there was real optimism over a 2015 return, saying:

“The response I have had from people is that they would like it to keep going, so I think it will – it will come back bigger and better.”

As with similar local events, the festival can rely on top quality poster and flyer printing from Northampton printing companies to ensure people in the town know about it, should it be held again next year.
