Local festivals, fairs and events are generally a hit with the locals in Northamptonshire and the recent steam train rally, which was held at Earls Barton Showground, was no exception. Prior to the event, organisers anticipated that around 2,000 visitors would attend the event, which promised to deliver fun for all the family.
Pat Conroy is a member of Earls Barton Steam Rally committee. Conroy spoke about the event, praising the work of those who give up their free time to make the rally happen. Conroy said:
“We couldn’t do this event without all of the volunteers who help. We are very grateful to them. It’s always a brilliant weekend.”
The Earls Barton steam rally also touts itself as being a country fair as well as celebration of steam power, so activities on offer were varied and appealed to a wide audience. The facilities on offer included live music, a real ale bar and event ferret racing. Camping facilities were also on offer for those wishing to turn the weekend into a getaway break.
