The much-loved pantomime Sleeping Beauty will take place in Northampton this December, getting locals into a festive mood.
This is the tale of Princess Tahlia born in the enchanted land of Trumptonia, populated by unicorns, fairies, and dragons. When the wicked Carabosse is rejected at a celebration party, the fairy then decides to cast a dark spell, transforming the life of the Princess forever. Her destiny, should she choose to accept the challenge, now rests in her hands.
The panto has colourful protagonists and much slapstick comedy. There are classic musical routines incorporating several showstoppers, as well as all the traditional sparkle and magic. This should have widespread appeal to the family as Christmas entertainment, with both parents and children likely to enjoy it.
It is important to note that the show lasts approximately one hour and 20 minutes with no interval, in order to facilitate social distancing. There will also be a much smaller cast, including fewer children, with all participants being required to undergo pre-performance testing.
