Saints clinched the top prize in domestic rugby union with a thrilling 24-20 win against Saracens, and hit the streets in a bus with an open top on Sunday, June 1st to show the cup off to fans.
The victory parade began at the club’s Franklin’s Gardens home and followed a route which took in Gold Street, George Row and Weedon Road, before finishing up at the Market Square, and the streets were packed with cheering crowds every step of the way.
Saints also won the European Challenge Cup in what has been a triumphant season, and the parade let fans show their appreciation for these efforts, with the help of the poster and banner printing of Northampton Print companies.
Tom Wood, the team captain, said:
“The amount of support we’ve got, what it means to the town and the people, I’m just incredibly proud to have been a part of it and to create this reaction.”
