Peter Viet-Lu has made it onto a list of 20 artists from around the globe to have their artwork exhibited at the event organised by IN:SIGHT, an art publication. Other artists on the list include sculptors, photographers and painters, with the materials used ranging from charcoal to oil paints, but Viet-Lu’s contributions remain unique.
The 33-year-old was born and raised in the town and attended Loughborough University, where he took a degree in Fine Art sculpture, achieving a first class degree with honours.
His work sees him create figures using origami, before producing staged scenes on pieces of board with graphite, acrylic spray paints and pen and ink.
Speaking to the Northampton Chronicle, Viet-Lu stated that:
“I use everyday objects to develop character based art, combining humour and engaging imagery to illustrate my imagination.”
Creative people based within the town always have the option of turning to places that provide full colour printing in Northampton, to help them realise their ideas effectively.
Viet-Lu is employed as the manager and art consultant of a local gallery, while holding exhibitions of his artwork in Northampton. Among the artists he cites as inspirations are Chris Bourke and Hanna Werning.
