Northampton set to enjoy rock artist

The singer-songwriter Ben Ottewell is due to give a performance in Northampton at the beginning of August.

This frontman and guitarist with the Mercury Prize-winning rock outfit Gomez is recognised for his distinctive vocals and original guitar solos, and will be bringing these qualities to Northamptonshire’s county town in the near future. He hails from the village of Bonsall in Derbyshire, as does his songwriting partner Sam Genders.

Ben's debut solo LP, 'Shapes & Shadows' came out in 2011. It includes acoustic songs, notably the title track and 'Take This Beach', which subsequently featured on FX’s 'Sons of Anarchy'. These tunes, among his other biggest records, are bound to excite the Northampton crowd.

Sam Genders, formerly of The Accidental, has been Ben’s collaborator on many songs.. According to Bluebird Reviews:

'Each song on 'Rattlebag' is filled with clever phrases that hit the mark. while Ottewell sings each word with conviction.'

Indeed, Ben has long been entertaining audiences by setting his lyrics to an acoustic and slide guitar accompaniment, in individual tours of Australia, North America and around the UK.

The support, on this occasion, is provided by Liam Vincent and The Odd Foxes. Tickets cost £17.85 inclusive of a transaction tax. Stationery printers can be a useful resource when it comes to organising a concert or musical event.

Ben Ottewell's gig has a starting time of 7.30pm on Friday 4th August at The Black Prince, Northampton.
