All nurses taking up roles at the hospital after completing their qualifications will attach these badges to the collars of their uniforms for the initial six months that they spend at Northampton General.
The thinking behind the idea is that the badges will serve as a visual reminder to their more experienced co-workers to provide them with the help and support they need, making new nurses keener to remain in post at the hospital.
Northampton General Hospital’s patient services, midwifery and nursing director, Carolyn Fox, told the Northampton Chronicle that the badges were a means of saying thanks to those nurses who had chosen the hospital, adding:
“They’ll help us to remember how daunting a new job can be and how the little gestures can make a big difference. So, if you see one of our nurses wearing the daisy give them a smile and say hello!”
The hospital has the option of using printers that offer services like branded Envelopes in Northampton, to supply it with materials for official correspondence with patients.
