Northampton gets set to sample soul

The 80s band Soul II Soul is on the road with its Club Classics tour and is due to play a gig in Northampton early in December.

They developed from being a 1980s warehouse outfit to worldwide pioneers of black music. First, by securing their own commercial niche and then by acting as a major influence on other black artists.

Soul II Soul's hits include Keep On Movin, a million-plus seller in the US, although Back To Life (However Do You Want Me) remains their biggest UK number-one single. In total the band has sold more than 10 million albums globally.

A key figure is Jazzie B, founder, an OBE recipient in 2008 for services to music and who also won an Ivor Novello Award for Inspiration, as “the man who gave British black music a soul of its own”.

Their latest tour follows the success of their 2018 shows and it pays tribute to their seminal first album, Club Classics Vol. 1. The five-time Brit Award nominees and two-time Grammy Award winners are set to play 15 UK dates, including London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Tickets cost £38.75, inclusive of a booking fee. Brochure printing can have a considerable impact when it comes to advertising a forthcoming musical event or concert.

Soul II Soul's gig will take place from 7:30pm to 11pm on Saturday 3rd December at The Roadmender, Northampton.
