The Brackmills Estate was made a BID five years ago. The transport and logistics firms based there have split an overall investment of around £2 million, and the ‘yes’ vote ensures that they will divide a similar sum between them for the next five.
Businesses on the estate can already rely on the support of other local firms, like Northampton Print companies capable of supplying cutting edge products such as digital Business Cards, but the further investment between now and 2019 will enable them to fund priority initiatives.
Areas already identified for work include better power and broadband provision, 24/7 CCTV protection, more grit for road surfaces during the winter, improving the appearance of unused sites on the estate, and the recruitment of a Community Support Officer.
