The charity is called Baby Basics Northampton (BBN) and it now possesses a drop-off location within the centre of town. Letterheads from Northampton can be used by third sector organisations. BBN relies on donations from the local community. It distributes items to help families who are experiencing deprivation.
Angie Kennedy is a project manager at the organisation and she told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo:
“We feel privileged that The Entertainer toy shop within the Grosvenor Centre in Northampton town centre, is to become a donation drop off point for Baby Basics Northampton, available to take donations on Saturdays between 9am-6pm."
The Entertainer views philanthropy as part of its values so its management will enjoy helping the charity. BBN engages in partnership working to achieve its goals. Without this inclusive approach, it would find it hard to deliver starter packs to those who may benefit from them. Family workers, health visitors, midwives and local children centres all contribute to the collective effort.
For progress to be maintained, the local community shall have to step up to the plate. BBN is urging individuals to donate a variety of items to boost the cause.
