Opus Energy came a creditable sixth in a brand study conducted by Kantar Millward Brown (KMB). This performance means that the Northampton enterprise was ranked alongside the likes of Innocent, EasyJet and Dyson. It was the first piece of British brand research conducted by KMB. Marketing services within Northampton can help local businesses to develop their brands.
KMB looked at quite a wide range of criteria when assessing the various brands. For example, the study focused on communications, innovation, purpose and brand experience. The idea was to give extra credit to breakthrough enterprises. Such businesses have often been innovative and purposeful.
Opus Energy has recently been honoured in the British Small Business Awards. It won in the category of ‘Utilities Provider of the Year’ and the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) has been delighted by the progress which has been sustained. Nikki Flanders, the COO, said:
“Being recognised with both an award for small business services and a vote of brand confidence is a fantastic way to mark an exciting and fast-paced year for Opus Energy.”
Opus Energy has spent some time analysing its success. One explanation is that the business has prioritised innovation. Another explanation is that the outfit has managed to challenge the ‘Big Six’ companies which still tend to dominate the British energy market.
