The announcement was made by town leaders during a meeting held in the Guildhall, with the moves being the latest development in the programme called Northampton Alive.
As well as a branch of the popular Starbucks coffee shop chain, a restaurant called Cosmo, which offers pan-Asian cuisine, will be moving into a building in the town’s Market Square locale.
Councillor David Mackintosh, Northampton Borough Council leader, told the local press:
“New projects continue to be added to the programme as the success of our many regeneration schemes breed more success and encourage more businesses to choose Northampton as a place to grow.”
Once these new food and drink outlets open, they will be able to rely on flyer printing in Northampton to help promote their products to local people.
At the moment, the council has yet to reveal which ‘landmark building’ in the centre of the town Starbucks hopes to move into, but it has indicated that the coffee shop giant could be up and running in Northampton by the summer.
