The Northampton Half Marathon is due to take place for the seventh consecutive year and the date of the event now been announced by its organisers.
On Sunday 29 September, some of the city’s most eager and energetic residents will be limbering up outside the Guildhall, preparing for a gruelling, 13-mile route.
Whilst tackling the distance, participants will be treated to a number of Northampton’s scenic and historic wonders. The route weaves in and around the city, passing such sites as Derngate, the Racecourse and the Charles Bradlaugh statue. The finish line will be on the beautiful lawns of Delepre Abbey, where many supportive friends and family members are sure to be waiting.
The director of the race, Simon Hollis, is enthusiastic about the event’s popularity, stating:
“This year we have more charity partners than ever with many local and national charities using the race as a great way to raise funds for their much needed causes.”
Last year, over 600 participants took part in the half marathon and its organisers are keen for this year’s event to be just as successful. Many participants will be representing various great causes, making the run even more worthwhile.
