Part of the drive involves Plans to make it simpler for Northamptonshire business owners to secure Indian visas, allowing them to travel freely to the South Asian country on business trips.
The transport links in Northampton, coupled with the relatively low running costs in the region, often appeal to Indian business owners who don’t have the budget for London.
David Mackintosh, Northampton Borough Council leader, has been spearheading the project. He commented on the new deal, saying:
“I’m delighted we’ll soon offer a fast track visa service from The Guildhall for businesses wanting to work in India and requiring an urgent visa.
“The Indian business community has a huge amount of ambition and is keen to grasp every opportunity. That reflects our own drive and determination in Northampton and I’m sure the common ground we share will lead to some mutually beneficial opportunities.”
On the back of this deal, several Indian companies have contacted Northampton Borough Council to find out more about the trading and business opportunities on offer in the region.
An increase in business will mean the number of networking events in Northampton could grow significantly, creating a greater demand for digital Business Cards.
