The Chartered Institute of Personal Development (CIPD) will hold the second of its mentoring sessions in Northampton later this month.
The session is entitled “Knowledge is Contagious - Pass it On” and will focus on the subject of appraisal. The traditional end-of-year appraisal of performance has become the subject of much criticism in recent times. It is increasingly viewed by many, both employees and managers, as too infrequent, derivative, often confusing and essentially lacking in real value.
This session will follow a discussion-led format with participants having an opportunity to debate these issues and to share their own views and experiences in a friendly learning environment.
The idea then is to peer up with those who have greater expertise or particular skills in order to develop a deeper knowledge base. Thus facilitating the establishment of a more formalised mentoring relationship, one that extends beyond the exchange of Business Cards.
Registration starts at 6pm, after which coffee and muffins will be provided. The session itself will take place between 6:30pm and 8pm.
There will be no charge for CIPD members but non-members must pay an online fee of £12 when booking. A photographer will be present and car parking is available.
The CIPD Knowledge is Contagious - Pass it On session takes place on 20th June at the Holiday Inn Express, Northampton.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
