The Bright Space, designed by children residing at the refuge, has given a lift to the garden, which is now a fun and enriching environment for fun and games, and rest and relaxation. Included in the makeover are numerous toys and other equipment, a water wall, an outdoor kitchen, plants and flowers, a climbing frame, a new seating area, and new surfacing.
To mark the occasion, refuge staff, volunteers and residents, attended a party in the renovated garden. Christine Morgan, CEO of the refuge, and Cllr Gareth Eales, Mayor of Northampton, officially opened the new Bright Space. Morgan said:
“It offers the children a place to be children and for residents to enjoy the peace and quiet or simply watch the children play.”
Bright Horizons Foundation Development Manager, Emily Harris, added:
“We wanted to make sure the garden reflected everything that Eve and the children asked for, and to create a special place for the children to enjoy.”
