Entitled The Battle of Northampton, the book is the work of Mike Ingram and will have its official launch in Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, with the author set to be there to sign Copies.
Earl Spencer has written the foreword for the book, while the artwork has been provided by Matthew Ryan – who is renowned for his historical illustrations.
Speaking to the Northampton Chronicle, Ingram said that his book was the first to look at this battle – which occurred during the Wars of the Roses – in serious depth.
He went on to add that the book examined not only the actual battle, but also the wider medieval history of the town, in addition to the role it played during the Wars of the Roses.
The local council’s community engagement cabinet member, Brandon Eldred, told the Chronicle that:
“We are delighted to host the launch of this fascinating book which expertly documents Northampton’s past and acknowledges the town’s importance as a centre of power in Medieval England.”
Those involved will be able to rely on places that offer postcard printing in Northampton, if they want to feature souvenir Postcards of the illustrations at the 19th December launch.Get a Free Quote for Postcards Get a Free Quote for Copies
