Artist trail launches in Northampton

Local artists in Northampton are being given a chance to exhibit their works in the town centre during September, as part of a venture launched by the Business Improvement District.

Northampton-based artists have been offered a rare opportunity to showcase their work in front of the most mainstream audiences in the town – the high street. Local shops and buildings in the Business Improvement District of the town will open their doors and welcome in artists, encouraging them to display their work for local people to enjoy as part of an artist trail that is being called ‘Discover Northampton.’

Yvonne Spence is the director from the Business Improvement District that is responsible for the artist trail project. She spoke about this in a recent interview, saying:

“We can’t wait for people to be able to complete the trail – we have some fantastic exhibitors. The businesses have been really interested in being part of Discover Northampton, particularly ‘Discovering the beauty’ as they can really start to feel part of the campaign. We hope residents across Northamptonshire take part in the Artist Trail.”

Leaflets have been created to highlight where work is being shown on the trail. Many events like this are reliant on printed communications to help advertise and encourage participation. Discover Northampton hopes to attract a number of visitors thanks to its use of flyer printing. Northampton’s artist trail will run throughout September and more information can be found by picking up a leaflet from local businesses.
