‘A Bit of a Carry On’, presented by Tyler Butterworth, is due to take to the stage in Northampton in mid-September.
The Darling Buds of May star will recall the humorous, moving and, at times, nostalgic story of his famous parents. Janet Brown was originally Britain's pre-eminent TV female impressionist, while Peter Butterworth was the easily recognisable Carry On actor.
A positive tale, it leads its audience on a journey filled with surprises, from wartime through to showtime, and is a look into what is now often recognised as the highwater mark of British film and television comedy.
It is a story of prisoner of war life and adventures at Stalag Luft 111, as well as a night spent with Margaret Thatcher at Chequers, and how a boy from Manchester and a girl from Glasgow were the first man and wife to couple appear on "This is Your Life" as subjects.
There are classic TV and film clips, rare pictures and a Q&A session with Tyler himself. It is an opportunity to discover much more about the two well-known British comedy’s stars, who were dedicated to making people laugh.
All tickets cost £19.50 with a choice of seating. Promotional Products can be a most effective way of publicising a forthcoming local event or activity.
A Bit of a Carry On will take place between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm on Friday, September 17 at The Deco Theatre, Northampton.
