‘SPLAT’, which stands for sport, play, leisure and arts, runs events in more than 30 villages across the region, covering everything from arts and crafts to skateboarding and quad biking.
The portfolio holder for community engagement and wellbeing at Northamptonshire Council, Rosie Herring, spoke about the programme, saying:
"This year’s SPLAT programme offers some fantastic and varied activities for children and young people to get involved in, and I am sure that there is something here for everyone.
“The summer holidays are a wonderful time to find something new to try out and we look forwarding to welcoming new and returning participants to an action packed time."
The activities are designed to be affordable for parents and are charged at £4 per session, with a discount for parties of three. A brochure is available to parents explaining how the programme works and what exactly is on offer.
The brochure is available to download digitally from the official council website. However, many similar programmes in the region work with professional brochure printers in Northampton to produce printed promotional materials to advertise activities. While digital Brochures can be extremely useful, organisers often feel the need to reach out to those who don’t use computers and smartphones.
Parents can book their children onto courses now by contacting the council. The programme runs until Friday 30th August.
