Office block in Leeds could be redeveloped
A block of offices in Leeds that used to be home to a legal company could be set for refurbishment, with the news that the developer behind this scheme has submitted plans to the council.
Opus North is hoping to turn the block on King Street, right in the heart of Leeds, into ultra-modern office space equipped with a terrace on the roof and sky lounge for hosting corporate events. This building was formerly home to the Walker Morris firm of lawyers, but has been vacant for some time and was acquired by the developer and Fiera Real Estate at the start of the year.
The building has seven floors and covers 53,000 sq. ft in total. It was built 31 years ago and the plans for redeveloping it would also see the front section extended and floors five and six totally rebuilt. Once renovations of this sort are completed, printing services in Leeds can create glossy brochures to help show them off to prospective tenants.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Opus North director Andrew Duncan said:
He went on to add that if the required permission is given, the work on the redevelopment would be getting underway during July.
