Smart Works Leeds is a charity that assists women in finding jobs. It has announced that it will be running an entire month’s worth of events for International Women’s Day. The idea is to provide a programme that combines community activities, sports and storytelling. All of the events throughout the month will be united by the common theme of celebrating women. They will also raise cash for the charity.
One of the events is set to be panel featuring a range of inspiring women, which will take place at Leeds Arena. Elsewhere, the Cow and Calf pub will host an abseiling event for charity and Darley Street Market will have a fashion sale.
Another event that is part of the programme is a networking conference. The venue for that will be Yorkshire Building Society. When local businesspeople are attending events for networking, they sometimes like to take printed Business Cards from Leeds shops with them.
The Chair of Smart Works Leeds is Tracy Fletcher. Speaking to Leeds Live, she said:
“Our 2026 programme is designed to inspire, connect and empower while raising crucial funds to help even more women transform their lives through employment.”
The events will run throughout March.
