Documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux has become the latest addition to the line-up. He will launch the festival with what is being described as an intimate discussion. While the subject matter has not yet been revealed, it may be about masculinity, as this was the topic of Theroux’s most recent film.
He is just one of the impressive names that will appear the festival. Others include the television presenters Vicky Pattison and Roman Kemp, the pianist and songwriter Tim Minchin and the naturalist and presenter Chris Packham.

The director of Leeds International Festival of Ideas is Martin Dickson. He told BBC News that landing Theroux was a coup for the festival. He then added:
“LIFI has always been about bringing the brightest minds to Leeds and giving the city a stage that punches above its weight. LIFI26 does exactly that.”
