Legal and General is behind the proposed development and it has promoted housing schemes of this kind at sites around the UK. Now one of its partners, Guild Living, has committed funding of £4.5 million towards the project. The two-acre site chosen for it is being described as ‘landscaped space’ and is situated close to the hospital in Epsom.
One of the reasons that Guild Living has decided to put up such a large sum of money towards it is the results of a study revealing that Epsom urgently needs more than 4,000 additional units for private care to be built within the next two years. It also cited the chance to ease pressure on the hospital as a factor. When planning developments such as this, graphic design is often used to draw up the initial blueprints.
Speaking to the Surrey Comet, Eugene Marchese from Guild Living said:
“We are delighted to announce our investment in a new public space next to the hospital, providing much-needed new facilities and areas for NHS staff and hospital patients and visitors to relax in.”
No date has yet been agreed for work on this development to start.
