Epsom to get new food hall

A huge food hall will open in Epsom later this year, which will be able to accommodate hundreds of people and will also lead to the creation of job opportunities.

It is set to be named Epsom Social and will contain seating for 180 people within the building, as well as another 20 on the outside. Among the amenities will be a full bar measuring 10 metres in length, two pop-up eateries and seven permanent food providers. The chosen location for it is Epsom Square, on the site that used to be occupied by Jimmy’s.

The aim behind it is to cater to the tastes of the widest possible range of people in the town, with food options including vegan dishes, Indian cuisine and pizzas. Drinks will range from beer, wine and cocktails to non-alcoholic choices like tea and coffee.

Promotional products created and supplied by shops in Epsom can help with the advertising of new local outlets such as this one. Epsom Social has been in development for around half a year already.

Speaking to Surrey Live, Peter Farrell, its co-founder stated that:

“I think there’s more demand (for) these types of places. But what really attracted us to Epsom was the community vibe, the feel of the place.”

Epsom Social is expected to create around 50 new jobs when it opens in the summer.
