Epsom pub to undergo comprehensive refurbishment

One of the most popular pubs in Epsom is set to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment, meaning it will be closed to locals for a while.

The Station pub is situated in the Stoneleigh district of Epsom. It has now closed its doors to the public so that work can get underway on transforming its interiors. There will also be work carried out on the outside of the pub, but the building has Grade II listed status, so much of it must remain intact.

A sizeable amount of money has been put into this project, with the total cost expected to be in the six-figure region. The pub will be shuttered for a number of weeks before its grand reopening.

When local venues like this one open up again after a period of closure, they sometimes look to shops in Epsom that offer banner printing. This allows them to hang promotional Banners outside, letting the public know they are back.

The Station is run by Greene King. According to a local source, a spokesperson for that company issued a statement, assuring residents of the town that the closure was just a temporary measure.

The statement went on to say:
“We’ll get back in touch next month with more details and fresh images of the newly renovated space.”

It will reopen during mid-November.
