Sam Hall is planning to make the journey to Epsom from Helsinki by bicycle, which is almost 4,000 kilometres. That is longer than the Tour de France cycle route. Furthermore, he is aiming to complete it in a shorter time period than the Tour de France takes. Hall is taking this challenge on to raise money for the Momentum Children’s Charity that supported his young son Sepp after his diagnosis with cancer.
Sadly Sepp passed away last October, but Hall is keen to pay tribute to him. He is also aiming to raise £50,000 for the charity.
Speaking to Surrey Live, he explained that he had chosen Helsinki as the starting point because that is where his wife comes from, so the family regards itself as half Finnish.
He then went on to add that:
“It’s a big distance and it’s not going to be easy. But I just thought, if I’m going to do something for charity, I might as well do something that’s going to be difficult and hopefully gets as much uplift as possible.”
Epsom poster printing shops can help spread awareness of local fundraisers, alongside online promotions.
Hall will start his journey through eight different countries by bicycle next month.
