Epsom girl in contention for television award

A girl from Epsom who stars in a hit BBC drama series is in the running for a top television award, where she will compete against other rising stars.

Francesca Fullilove has become known throughout the country for her role in the series Call the Midwife. The 12-year-old plays the part of Colette Corrigan, who is an orphan. She joined the show back in 2021 and has since become a regular member of the cast, but now her performances have earned an award nomination. She is up for the prize ‘Favourite Young Actor of the Year’ in the TV Times Annual Awards.

This category is set to be a hotly-contested one, with some serious talents having been nominated. Francesca will be up against Coronation Street star Isabella Flanagan, Sonny Kendall from Eastenders and Adolescence actor Owen Cooper.

When local people are in contention for awards, their friends and families sometimes look to promote the fact so that people will vote for them. Banner printing by Epsom shops can help with this.

Her mother Teresa Fullilove spoke to Your Local Guardian about the news. She stated:

“She’d love to do film, but I think she’s not too bothered, as long as it’s challenging and something she can get her teeth into.”

The deadline for nominations closed earlier in the month, but the winners are still to be announced.
