Epsom could be one of the spots in Surrey to benefit from the installation of charging points for electric vehicles, if Plans announced by Surrey County Council go ahead.
The council is aiming to install hundreds of charging points across the county over the next two years, but it has named 20 areas where it wishes to start. Six of the proposed locations on this initial list are in Epsom, and the council wants local people to share their thoughts about the Plans. If they move forward, the town would get charging points at Andrews Close, Kingston Road, Nimbus Road, Vale Road, Victoria Place and Wheelers Lane.
This is a higher number of possible locations than any other town within Surrey and it could make a big difference to people who live in Epsom. The plan is to fit a range of different charging points, from standard 7kW ones to 5 and 3kW points.
If these charging points are installed at the chosen sites in Epsom, the council may wish to advertise this fact. Poster printing from shops in the town is one of the options they would have to do so.
Marisa Heath from Surrey County Council stated that the Plans were at the heart of the authority’s strategy for reaching net zero. It is currently hoping to achieve that goal by sometime during 2050.Get a Free Quote for Plans
