Consultation planned for Epsom housing project

A project that would see hundreds of homes constructed at a site within Epsom that is currently occupied by a disused gas works is set to undergo a public consultation.

Zenith Land is keen to build a development at this site that would feature 450 homes. The chosen piece of land is on East Street and the old Epsom and Ewell Gas Company building currently stands there. It was built in 1847, but the developer is hoping to knock it down and provide new gas distribution facilities to replace it.

That and the homes are not the only amenities that would be included in the development though. It would also incorporate a fresh base for the drama and dance college Laine Theatre Arts.

The 450 homes would be split between a total of five blocks and the company is stating that it will be a complete community in the heart of Epsom. Graphic Design Services can assist property firms by creating images of their proposed developments for use in public consultations.

This particular consultation will be carried out through sessions in Epsom Methodist Church that local people can attend. This will let them find out more about the project and provide their thoughts concerning it.

The consultation is scheduled to run until the end of this month and a decision will be made by the council afterwards.
