A chapel in Epsom that has lain disused and neglected for several decades is set to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment, before it is reopened for use as a venue for the local community.
The running of Horton Chapel has been taken over by Horton Chapel Arts and Heritage Society, with this group having agreed a deal with the local council for a lease lasting 125 years. The group Plans to transform it into a venue for the hosting of community and arts events that will also feature garden spaces and a café and be called The Horton.
To help raise the funding needed to carry out this work, it has organised an auction to take place in the chapel building, on Haven Way. Among the things that will be available to buy at this auction are hymn and prayer Books, kneeler cushions, tables and pews from the chapel.
Logo Design services can often be helpful when it comes to creating eye-catching Posters for fundraising events like this one. The plan to renovate the chapel also has financial backing from the Lottery Heritage Fund.
Speaking to the Surrey Comet, the society’s chair Ian Reeves, said:
“The charity auction is a one-off opportunity to take a piece of history into your home – and contribute to the success of this exciting project.”
The auction will take place on 17th March.
