The Grand Café, based in Southampton, has been selected as the venue for the launch party for the South Coast Business Awards (SCBA) 2016.
The event at the café was in part organised by the Hampshire legal firm Trethowans. However, the Daily Echo has played a leading role in getting things together.
The basic aims of the SCBA have been set out clearly: firstly, it is hoped that the contest will raise business standards by the encouragement of competition, and secondly, the aspiration is that the awards will give credit to corporate achievements. Ian Murray, the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Echo, will host the ceremony and he will be joined by another speaker.
The SCBA has received backing from an array of companies. These include Wave 105, Destination Southampton, and Business South. There is a range of categories in which competing enterprises can do well. These include the Overall Business of the Year, which is sponsored by Trethowans.
During 2015, the overall prize was secured by Elliotts, a large family business that is in the building sector. Established back in 1842, the builders’ merchant now has over a dozen branches within the region. It employs 280 workers and supplies numerous builders and trades people. It received its recognition largely for its successful growth.
The ceremony for the awards has been scheduled for the July 14. Local demand for Business Cards may receive a boost and business card printing services in Southampton and Hedge End are in a suitable location to benefit from the awards.
