Science event breaks new ground
A science event with a tech dimension has been planned to take place at the science park attached to Southampton University.
The day has been put together by a public-private partnership. React Comms, a communications firm, and the economic development group of the local county council, have both stepped up to the plate. Companies that attend the sessions might improve their networking potential by using promotional pens from Southampton Hedge End.
The event, which has been called Nucleus, was pencilled in for global entrepreneurship week. The executive council member for the economy, Sean Woodward, has told the Hampshire Chronicle:
Registration for the event has been open for some time. No fee has been set for attendance so a broad range of participants will have the opportunity to go along.
The Nucleus event has not been organised in a restrictive way. Various activities are scheduled to take place on the day. For example, exhibitor showcases, presentations and workshops will all occur. Different subjects like 3D printing and attracting investment will be debated. The general idea is to engage with lots of innovative entrepreneurs by giving them incentives to turn up.
