The ribbon was cut by a local MP and the event took place in the business school of Southampton Solent University. If the Chamber of Commerce wants to raise its profile then it could use full colour printing in Southampton.
Stewart Dunn, the chief executive for the Hampshire Chamber, has told the Daily Echo:
“The chamber is a great institution and we want it to achieve even more in the future. We are thrilled to have moved to the Sir James Matthews building in the heart of town.”
Dunn has added that the Chamber of Commerce and the university are both central to the commercial life of Southampton. As a result of this thinking, Dunn has suggested that member services will benefit from the use of a dynamic and up-to-date space.
A formal partnership between Southampton Solent University and the Chamber of Commerce was made back in 2013. This deal has led to institutional collaboration of various types. For example, both of the local institutions share information in the sphere of regional economic performance.
Professor Mike Wilkinson, who is a senior representative for Southampton Solent University, has said that his institution can gain further from continued work with the Chamber of Commerce.
