A renowned American punk band will be crossing the Atlantic to play live in Southampton this coming spring.
Fans of US hardcore and punk in Botley Green, Hedge End and other parts of Southampton will soon get an opportunity to see the Dead Kennedys in concert when they drop by the city to play at The 1865. Major live music venues in Southampton and other cities often use professional flyer printing services to create branded leaflets that advertise the gigs they host.
The Dead Kennedys are notorious for merging revolutionary politics with spiky hardcore punk and have become one of the defining acts for their genre. More influenced by British political punk the American brand, the group created a unique sound led by the humorous but cutting lyrics of original frontman Jello Biafra, who once ran for Mayor of San Francisco.
Biafra has since been replaced as band leader with Ronald “Skip” Greer taking his place on vocals, but the band’s energy and lyrics live on. Those attending can expect to hear classic tracks from the Kennedys, which may include “Holiday in Cambodia” and “Police Truck”.
The Dead Kennedys will now play live at The 1865 based at Brunswick Square in Southampton on Friday, May 5. The concert will start at 7.30 pm and end at 11.30 pm, with tickets priced at £30.25 per person. Admission is offered to those aged 14 and over.
