TV appearance for antique shop in Chesterfield

An antique shop located in Chesterfield, and one based in nearby Bolsover, will be competing against each other on one of the most popular daytime television shows this summer.

Both antiques centres were visited by presenters and crew from the hit BBC show Antiques Road Trip, with the filming having taken place at the end of last month. However, residents of Chesterfield will have to wait until the summer to actually see them on the screen, as this is when the episode is due to be broadcast.

The format for the programme has two chosen antiques experts journeying around the UK, seeking antiques that they can put into auction in London for a profit. Chesterfield Antiques Centre, located on Park Road, was the shop selected to take part in the show.

The owners of this shop, Bob and Wendi Lindsay, are fans and contacted the BBC to find out if it would be possible for their shop to feature. Speaking to the Derbyshire Times, Wendi stated that:

“Our expert, the new presenter Roo Irvine, turned up in a Triumph Stag on Sunday. It was very nerve wracking but also exciting. I kept on forgetting my lines. We had to do lots of different takes. It is surprising how much is involved.”
