A comic who has become a household name thanks to regular appearances on BBC television and radio is set to visit Chesterfield later in the year, as part of his upcoming tour.
Milton Jones is a panellist on the hit comedy show Mock the Week and also appears frequently on Radio Four. In addition to this, he has carved out a niche in the competitive world of stand-up comedy with his surreal gags, and he will be bringing his new live show – which he has called Milton: Impossible – to the Winding Wheel theatre in Chesterfield.
Those who run the venues that host shows of this kind often use Chesterfield Print shops that can provide glossy brochure printing, so that people can buy programmes on the night.
Speaking to the Derbyshire Times about what audiences can expect from the new show, Jones joked that although the name is a pun on the big-budget Mission: Impossible movie franchise, his show would be a much more low-budget affair featuring him telling gags while wearing hats.
Jones went on to say:
“There are about 250 jokes in the show, but I reckon I end up writing about 350. A lot of them are then used somewhere else – in the next tour, on radio, on Mock the Week – so they’re never wasted.”
He will be performing in Chesterfield on October 16.
