Starry cast announced for pantomime in Chesterfield

The cast for the annual Christmas pantomime in Chesterfield has now been announced, and it features several well-known names from the worlds of pop music and television.

This year, the pantomime will be Jack and the Beanstalk and the lead role is being played by Lee Latchford-Evans of pop band Steps. The part of Princess Jess will also be taken by a celebrity, with Andrea Valls, who stars in the hit kids television show Waffle the Wonder Dog, having been signed up for it. As with previous years, the venue for this year’s panto will be the Pomegranate Theatre.

The show is also set to boast a couple of top class theatre actors, as Janine Pardo and Simon Howe play Spirit of the Beans and Dame Trott, while the comic Paul Eastwood is another prominent name on the cast list. Theatres in Chesterfield and elsewhere often rely on local Print shops to supply the tickets and other materials for their shows.

Latchford-Evans told the Derbyshire Times that pantomimes are traditionally about escapist fun, adding:

“It’s great to bring your family out and de-stress for a few hours and have a laugh at us, who are making fools out of ourselves on stage but loving every moment of it, and hopefully the audience love every moment of it too.”

The pantomime will run between December 6th and January 5th.
