Route for Chesterfield Marathon announced

With poster printing for the event likely to already be under way, the route for the upcoming Chesterfield Marathon later this year has been unveiled.

Taking in Brampton, the competitors will work their way through Chesterfield town centre and Sheepbridge, as well as a number of other places in the area.

Already, over 800 people have signed up for the 26-mile race, which will see fundraisers drum up thousands of pounds for local, national and international charities. With more than 1,000 people expected to hit the road at the start, there are also smaller races and events for people to participate in.

With banner printing no doubt set to decorate points along the route, the race – taking place on 14th September – will start and finish at Queens Park in the centre of Chesterfield, which will also be the venue for more of the day's entertainment.

As well as the start and finish, there will be a host of activities for the crowd supporting the runners. With great fun things for the children to do, including a fairground, it should be a good day out for all of the family.

There will also be an after-race celebration party, getting underway as soon as the last stragglers have crossed the line. With live entertainment and music from local bands, the day will be brought to an end with a firework finale.
