The residents of Chesterfield could be due to benefit from a brand new leisure centre, according to Plans shared with a local newspaper.
The Chesterfield Post recently ran a report giving details of the proposed complex at Queens Park, which would see the 40-year-old facility being overhauled as part of a £3 million drive to improve the amenities on offer.
The leisure centre will feature state-of-the-art sports facilities and could also be home to a 25 metre swimming pool, which was the most requested facility when members of the public were questioned on what they might like to see as part of the new centre.
New sports and leisure centre developments often present opportunities for members of the community to try new things, like exercise classes and team sports. Leisure centres tend to produce printed timetables to publicise classes and activities. Printing companies in Chesterfield could also be called upon to produce leaflets using full colour digital printing. These would help promote the new facilities to people in the community.
The leisure centre Plans have piqued the interest of Chesterfield residents who responded positively to the first stage of the planning consultation process. However, some residents did express concern that some sports would not be provided for by the new leisure centre. For example, there are no Plans to include diving facilities at the centre at this stage.
A further consultation will be underway shortly to ascertain whether these Plans should go ahead. More information can be found on the council’s website.
